Phil Cooke Challenge Ride 2012

This years Phil Cooke Challenge went ahead with 500 riders having taken up all the places and we are delighted to announce that the profits from the event came to £2,018.65  the cheques being duly presented to the Midlands area chief fundraiser for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity on 22 February 2012. It was also heartening to receive donations from a number of Phil's former friends and colleagues.

Whilst it was a very chilly start to the event with temperatures around freezing causing a number of minor tumbles on the ice in the first hour of the event the sun eventually came out and shone on all who took part on this crisp day.

The organisation would like to thank all riders for their careful and considerate riding and it is nice to not have received any negative feedback to date relating to the event or its riders.

We look forward to seeing many of you on our next promotion the "Two Counties Challenge Ride 2012" which is to be held from the same venues i.e. Dunchurch Village Hall and Jack's Hill cafe' north of Towcester on 19th August 2012.

As was explained at the rider briefings a photographer on the circuit took many photographs and these can be seen by going directly to the website www.hinckleyphotographers.co.uk and clicking on the event name.
